BYD Denza Z9S: Tech Luxury Flagship Unveiled

BYD officially launched the Denza Z9S, positioned as a “tech luxury intelligent sedan,” available in three trims: the Flash Charging Premium, Flash Charging Flagship, and Yi-San Flash Charging Performance. The vehicle features an original “Elegant Pose” design with a “meteorite” front face and rear tail, offered in seven exterior colors and three interior options. The cabin is equipped with dual zero-gravity seats, Nappa leather, and a luxurious wide rear armrest, highlighting a premium quality.

In terms of performance and range, the Denza Z9S is built on the e³ platform and equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery. It achieves a CLTC range of 1,100 km, breaking the record for mass-produced pure electric vehicles globally. Paired with flash charging technology, it claims to charge sufficiently in 5 minutes and fully in 9 minutes. The powertrain offers high and low output versions; the low-output version peaks at 320 kW, while the high-output version rises to 370 kW, delivering a combined horsepower of 1,210 Ps. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.68 seconds and debuts a “novice drift mode,” with performance claims surpassing million-dollar supercars.

Regarding chassis and safety, the Z9S features 10° split rear-wheel steering and the DiSus-A intelligent air body control system, supporting Road Preview 2.0 for a balance of agile handling and ride comfort. The body utilizes a high-strength hot-formed steel cage structure, with high-strength steel and aluminum alloy accounting for 91.1% of the composition. The torsional stiffness reaches 45,036 N·m/deg, meeting C-NCAP five-star standards.

Intelligent features include the standard God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), featuring city navigation and intelligent parking. The interior debuts the “Diva” intelligent partner and a 15.6-inch smart ecosystem screen. It is the first globally to support Apple CarPicture-in-picture mode, seamlessly integrating all mainstream phone brands including Huawei, Apple, Xiaomi, and others for full-scenario phone-vehicle connectivity. Dimensions-wise, the low-power version measures 5,090×1,980×1,510 mm, while the high-power version stands at 5,090×1,980×1,490 mm, with both versions having a top speed of 250 km/h.
