The widespread adoption of USB Power Delivery (PD) fast-charging technology has established the USB Type-C interface as the standard interconnect across consumer electronics and industrial equipment.

However, the high-density pinout of this connector—particularly the sub-millimeter spacing between high-voltage VBUS pins and low-voltage SBU/CC pins—creates significant vulnerability to accidental short-circuit events caused by contact or contamination, delivering destructive energy directly to downstream controller integrated circuits.

Conventional TVS protection solutions have struggled to address this industry challenge.
