
The Xiaomi SKYNOMAD N90 Max, the brand’s flagship seven-seater SUV, has officially gone on sale, with a five-seat Exploration Edition—featuring an integrated electric pop-up roof—launching alongside it.
Sporting a bold, boxy design built around a “designed for space” philosophy, the N90 Max comes in seven colors, including Mountain Green and Butterfly Valley Blue, and rides on standard 21-inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestone quiet tires. It measures 5,285mm long, 1,998mm wide, and 1,825mm tall, with a 3,080mm wheelbase. Inside, the 2+2+3 seating layout comes standard with 16-point massage seats in the first two rows, offers up to four zero-gravity seats, and features power-swiveling front seats. With the second and third rows pushed all the way back, rear legroom stretches to 1,550mm, while the trunk swallows up to 1,831 liters—earning it the nickname of a “new-generation land-based business cabin.”

On the features front, rear passengers get a 21.4-inch 3K entertainment display, while the sliding center console houses a 9L compressor fridge that can glide back to serve the second row as a tea table. The cabin packs a 25-speaker, 4,890W sound system and runs on the third-generation Snapdragon 8 platform paired with NVIDIA’s Thor automotive computing platform, enabling Super Xiao Ai voice assistant and seamless cross-device connectivity. Xiaomi’s HAD advanced driver-assistance system comes standard, now augmented by a rear-facing solid-state LiDAR with 2cm measurement precision.

Under the skin, the super extended-range system delivers 464km of CLTC electric range and 1,705km of combined range, sipping just 6.26L/100km with a depleted battery, and can reclaim up to 285km of range in a 15-minute charge. The chassis pairs a double-wishbone front suspension with a multi-link rear setup and dual-motor AWD, sprinting from 0 to 100km/h in 5.9 seconds. A Luxury Package—adding smart power doors, powered running boards, and more—costs 31,000 yuan, currently discounted to 20,000 yuan for a limited time.

The star attraction of the Exploration Edition is its native electric pop-up roof. At the touch of a button, the cabin transforms into a two-level LOFT, with the upper deck offering 2,110mm × 985mm of usable space and supporting up to 200kg. Interior height climbs to 2,294mm—enough for occupants to stand upright. When closed, the roof adds just 100mm to the vehicle’s height and comes fitted with mesh screens, lighting, and charging ports. The system is backed by 19 safety mechanisms and has survived a 44.7km/h rollover test plus 10,000 open-close cycles.
The second-row sofa seats fold flat at the touch of a button (or via voice command) into a 1.87m × 1.24m bed, complemented by a floor heating system. Rounding out the living-room experience are a 30-inch projector screen, a floating bedside table, and wood-grain aluminum flooring—cementing its credentials as the ultimate “camper’s dream.” The Exploration Edition comes standard with air suspension, dual LiDAR, a 4nm flagship chip, and an armored cage body reinforced with 2,200MPa ultra-high-strength steel in 16 locations, along with nine airbags. Smart power doors, the compressor fridge, and the Xiaomi Xingxian premium sound system are all standard equipment—blurring the line between transportation and a true home on wheels.
